4th National Data Analyst Network (NDAN) Meeting

The fourth meeting of the National Data Analysts Network (NDAN) took place on 22nd January 2026 as a hybrid event, with participants joining both in person at the CSO’s Rathmines office and online.
The meeting was chaired by Paul Morrin, Assistant Director General for the Statistical System Coordination Unit, CSO. Pamela Lafferty, Head of the Administrative Data Centre, CSO, opened the event with highlights and updates focused on the CSO’s Data Strategy and ongoing work to strengthen data collaboration across the public sector.
The agenda featured presentations aligned with the Network’s three pillars:
Communication Pillar
- Basic Income for the Arts: A Randomised Control Trial (RCT) – Nadia Feldkircher, Department of Culture, Communications and Sport (DCCS)
Collaboration Pillar
- Pobal’s Eircode ECAD Implementation – Bertrand Dory, Pobal
- Guidance Note: Data-Relevant Provisions of the Directives on Standards for Equality Bodies – Jane-Ann O’Connell, Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC)
Capacity Pillar
- Text Analysis and Classification Projects in the CSO – Brendan O’Dowd, Central Statistics Office (CSO)
The meeting showcased innovative data work and practical examples of collaboration and capacity-building, reinforcing the Network’s role in connecting analysts and sharing expertise across the system.
Looking ahead, preparations are underway for the 2026 National Data Analysts Network (NDAN) and National Data Infrastructure (NDI) conferences.
